The Haunting of Cottonwood
My name is Michael McLaren. People think that I must be a strange person, writing and filming what I see in my mind.
This is not true, I live my life with the heart of a young boy. In fact It's sitting in a jar on my desk...
For years I enjoyed being on film portraying many characters, but I was always drawn to the darker side of film. Being a huge fan of Hammer House of Horror Films back in the United Kingdom, I knew making this genre of film was my destiny.
A chance visit to Mt Dora Florida inspired my first film. While sitting on the front porch of the Lakeside Inn, a seaplane landed with wedding guests deplaning. My weird mind wondered, What if! What if a croc lunged from the mirky water and attacked them. That's been done many times, I thought, and I decided on a croc-type creature, similar to the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
By the time I had returned to Miami, Crocodylus was penned.
30 million minutes streamed and still trending.
I followed up with Midnight Montage, an anthology of short stories and its sequel, Midnight Montage Book of Consequences.
All films are available on Amazon Prime.
The Haunting of Cottonwood just wrapped and will be available Fall 2023. This is my biggest budget film and has all the elements to SHOCK you to the core.
Synopsis:
After the loss of their twin daughter Avery, the walls of Dave and Georgina's California home start to crumble. Dave is thrown a life line that will help the family pick up the pieces. He is contacted by the estate of Dr. Oliver and is told an old orphanage has been bestowed to him. The timing couldn't be better and the family decides to move. Their terrifying journey begins, when they discover a secret room, unearthing it's deadly past, but who or what scratched out Nurse Jenkins from the photo?
Not only did they inherit an old Victorian house, they also inherited the ghosts that haunt it...
